It's Time To Stop Procrastinating Your Goals!

My apologies for the late post today guys! I’m still learning to manage my time coming out of Lockdown. Do you forgive me? Alright! Let's get to it. And I think the delay is just perfect for what I’m about to talk with you about. Recently I’ve been thinking to myself about this and I thought to share it with you.

It's about being a procrastinator. If you are a procrastinator, then you are not alone. There are many more people just like you who are waiting for an answer to their problem. When they get an assignment, a job, or a task to perform, they wait until the last possible moment to get it done. These folks lack the motivation to jump on things as soon as they should.

It probably started early in school for most people, as they put off assignments so that they could enjoy other things. Little did they know that in their later years, they would still be fighting those old habits that they learned as a child. I am as guilty as charged for this crime! According to Wikipedia Procrastination is the avoidance of doing a task that needs to be accomplished by a certain deadline. It could be further stated as a habitual or intentional delay of starting or finishing a task despite knowing it might have negative consequences.

It is not something flawed in your chemical makeup. In order to lead a successful life, you need to have some motivation, though. You cannot go through life putting off the important things that you have to do. If you feel like you have no ability to get your work done until the last moment, then you should get some help for your procrastination problem. There are many ways to get over this problem and they all involve making a change in your thinking and making a decision to start and finish well.

This reminds me of this verse

“The soul of a [lazy] man desires, and [has nothing]: But the soul of the [diligent] shall be [made rich].” Proverbs 13: 4 (NKJV)

If you want to achieve something and you only dream about it but do nothing then you will have nothing to show for it. However, If you take small steps towards the task at hand then it will be easier to manage and before you know it you had accomplished it.

It’s time to stop beating yourself up for leaving things until the last minute or starting something and never seems to see it through until the end. Be encouraged there is hope. As we read in the verse above, be diligent in what you do (take small steps) and your plans and goals will become a reality and make your soul rich with a sense of pride as well as the monetary evidence that will follow if it applies.

So I’m off to start my small steps myself...

Until next time.
