What Will It Cost To Give Myself Away?

Hello dear friends, It has been a while since I was here with you, right? I bet you were wondering what happened to me, but I'm still here. Going out to experience life so I can share my experiences here with you. I had not forgotten about you all, but I know deep down I wanted to give you all my best rather than just small parts of me so I hope this post will revive and encourage you as much it did for me. So without further ado, let's get into it.

When you decide to share your life with someone you love, you give all of you, you don't hold anything back. In time to come if you stop giving the best of yourself your significant will probably be able to sense that you're not the same as you were before, the way you used to show them attention, the way you used to give of yourself is no longer the same and they will know it, they will sense it. They may not be bold enough to say it to your face but they will definitely sense it.

So imagine having a personal relationship with God. It is no different. It's the same with God our Father in Heaven. He wants us to give ourselves to Him wholeheartedly not some here and some there, but all of us. Whether you are at work, at college, at church, on the street, or even online since most of us are spending most of our time here nowadays. He wants the best from us. Earlier this evening, while I ponder about this post the song called 'I give myself away' by William Mcdowell came to my heart. I will post the YouTube video below at the end of this post with the words and I pray that you will be able to understand every word that's being sang.

When we put God first, everything else falls into place. We don't have to strife, we don't have to force, we don't have to be anxious. He promised that He will give us our hearts desires if we delight ourselves in Him and to cast all our burdens on Him. He's able to carry them, He's able to manage them. (See Psalms 37:4, 1 Peter 5:7)

I'm not saying you should just wake up and expect a miracle because with everything we want we have to go out and work for it and towards it. However, spiritually speaking our hearts and minds must always be to please and honour Him in all that we do.

Over the last few weeks, I've learnt so much about myself as a person. God allowed me to experience humans on another level. In ways that I myself would have never dreamt of. I've learnt how fragile we all are. How one moment we can be as high and mighty as we think. But the next we could be laying on a hospital bed unable to do anything for ourselves.

For some of us, it can take a word, a situation; bad news, but for some, they had to be stopped in their tracks in order to listen to what their bodies were trying to tell them or even their family members were trying to tell them.

How do we respond when we are helpless? Unable to move our arms or legs? The little things we take for granted everyday, someone else now has to do it for us. Can you imagine? Now that's another way how humility teaches us, in our humility God is able to get our attention and speak to us. But for some of us, even at that moment we still blame God. We're still angry that we were stopped. That we're now unable to do anything for ourselves.

But what about being able to be still for a moment. I was sitting in church the other night and there was a man sitting in front of me. He had a very low haircut so you could see all the hairs on his head. Each strand standing. Now I remember when God says in His word that even the hairs on your head are numbered. (See Mathew 10:30) would you attempt to number the hairs on your head or on the head of someone else?

Why not? because it's an impossible task. If anyone attempts to do that they probably will use a computer to assist. But even so, I doubt very much that a computer would be able to do that. Because whatever a computer does a human has to programme it first on how to operate.

Now back to what we were talking about. When our lives are in God's hands for real, one hundred percent no matter what. We hold nothing from Him. Even if we go through the valleys of life or standing on the mountain top for everyone to see, God is still in the midst. He's able to do anything.

He is powerful in might and in Glory. But He's also so personal that He knows our weaknesses, yet he forgives us. He knows our strengths, yet He gives us the motivation to act on them. He knows what our hearts desire, so much so that He says if you trust in Him He will give it to you.

God is so amazing and I will continue to serve Him for the rest of my life here on this earth. With everything that's happening around me or to me, my desire is to be where He is. I refuse to allow the things that I don't have yet to take away my peace and joy in Him, because He means so much to me.

I invite you, my friend, whoever you are, wherever you are. If you have a burning desire to know this God I write about He's there where you are right now, waiting to listen to you, If you're sincere and humble to seek Him with all your heart, mind and soul He promised in His word that you will find Him. (See Jeremiah 29:13)

He's waiting for you because He doesn't come in unless invited.

PS. The song lyrics I promised to share with you below.

Until next time.
