Why I Choose To Stop The Frustration

Yesterday I decided to take a walk in the park to enjoy the sunny weather, and also to clear my thoughts. For some reason, it’s a piece of heaven for us women to not think about something at every moment. If it's not one thing it's the other.

What I want to share with you today is how important it is to have time to reflect on where you’ve been, where you are, and where you want to go in the future. It’s so easy to be so consumed with the expectations that have been placed on us on a daily basis both by our own self and by others we dearly love around us, don’t forget those who think they know what’s best for us too and find it their duty to tell us how to live our lives.

Taking time out is something I do whenever I get overwhelmed by my own tasks whether its a daily thing or even goals I set myself for my future and I find myself getting frustrated. Now there are different ways we can take time out from our whatever it is that’s taking away our peace. And my top one is spent reading the Bible, the Word of God always seems to give me comfort and a new way of looking at a particular situation. It reminds me that I am not in control but there is Soemone who is and If I know the Person then all I have to do is trust and continue to keep the faith.

One other thing I do is keep a journal, there I write out my frustrations, my prayers, things I am happy about, and also things that didn’t and aren’t going so well. According to positivepsychology.com, it is said that writing things down can boost our overall sense of gratitude, propels us towards our goals, helping us bring vision to our lives, and gives us a chance to get all our emotions out on paper, reducing our stress and release tension. Those are a few benefits of keeping a journal for yourself and you don’t have to be an avid writer.

It’s amazing how God always reminds His prophets in the Old Testament how they should always write things down so they don’t forget what He commands the people to obey. So in that case, I will continue to journal so I can keep track of where I’ve been and how far He has brought me from so far. And He will do the same for you too.

There are times when we think we are self- sufficient, but we are not. As they say, there’s safety in numbers and no man is an island. God promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8) I mean even God didn’t want to be alone, He created us in His own image so He can dwell with us (Genesis 1:27). So don’t impede Him from fulfilling His promise to you.

The cares and worries of this world will always try to make us so busy and frustrated that we’re no longer enjoying the very thing we’re working so hard to achieve. So do yourself a favour today and take a breathe! Slowly. And you know what? Being able to do that means you have life.

Until next time.
